Lucas the Teddy Bear Pattern - Amigurumi Crochet

Lucas the Teddy Bear (We´re one but we´re not the same!)

My latest three teddy bears: made with Lucas the Teddy Bear Pattern  The original Lucas the teddy bear pattern calls for hook size number 2, but here I used 3mm crochet hook for the very first time in my life. :) I use 2.5mm hook with most of my yarns, they are often DK/Worsted weight or 2mm with Sports weight for smaller ones like this mini bunny.
Lucas the Teddy Bear works with all kind of yarn and hook sizes, design won´t change. Excellent. And I like to follow my patterns on a smartphone. :)
I used Scheepjes Stone Washed XL yarn (Yellow Jasper), 3mm crochet hook, 8mm hand-painted safety eyes, cotton thread for the nose. Needed 3 balls/skeins on the dot of this beautiful yarn - 150 grams. I recommend buying 4, just in case, if you´d want to try with a 3.5mm crochet hook as well.
I followed more or less this list:

1st ball: legs, ears, a tail

2nd ball: a body, a hand

3rd ball: second hand, a head

They would make such a nice gift for triplets :)
You can give your time by giving someone a teddy bear you´ve crocheted up yourself. Big and small at the same time. Teddy bear is a lifetime friend - a timeless keepsake.

I also bought Stone Washed XL Moon Stone and some other colors, want to make more crochet teddy bears, 6 all together. Will see...
Thank you for stopping by. It´s so nearly the time to close the door on 2018 and step into 2019. See you! I´m grateful. Thank you!

Vintage-inspired teddy bear patterns are now available for you to crochet a bear or two. They have this classic look which gives the childhood teddy bear effect. Why you should give it a try, will give you some reasons:
a) very little sewing required. Amigurumi Teddy Marta is fully jointed, meaning there are only ears to be sewn to head.

b) inserting plastic safety joints is easy, because I´ve designed the teddy bear pattern with little holes in a body and in head where to place plastic safety joints (placing joints, joining head to body using safety joints), so everything has made very easy for you

c) you can make very many classic amigurumi teddy bears with this teddy bear pattern. Create your own Teddy Bear as a gift for a child, for a grandchild for closed ones, or why not to yourself, if you don´t have one. Teddy is a lifetime friend.

And you can customize it to suit any occasion. And you can crochet scarves in various colors to make it even cuter!

Silk and Cotton and a Teddy Bear - it´s a boy, again!

Lucas the Teddy is a teddy bear that I can just crochet over and over again and I´m never get tired - all teddy bears often have this impact on me - I just adore teddy bears and want to try different yarns and sizes (one example in process). This teddy bear is crocheted from silk and cotton yarn. I got this yarn on my trip to Finland and when I saw this silk and cotton yarn I knew this is a yarn I want to try out (you should see my desk, it´s full of yarns I want to crochet with). It´s a lovely grey color with a soft pastel shade. (I always like grey, you can combine it with every color, just so convenient). I used 2,5mm crochet hook (Clover) and 6mm black safety eyes. Nose (watch the video how to embroider the teddy´s nose) is embroidered with cotton thread (I can use a variety of shades for a different look). I love my little terrasse full of flowers (getting more and more obsessed by them). Autumn is coming but I still like to sit even for 10 minutes to enjoy my tisane :)

OOAK Artist Teddy Bear Gustav

OOAK Teddy Bear named Gustav

I´ve been learning teddy bear art for some time now even I haven´t posted any photos :) (hope to do in in near future) but first of all I would like to introduce to my very first teddy bear where amigurumi and old teddy bear making traditions are combined. He is all handmade and fully jointed - 5-way jointed with cotter pins and hard disc joints. I used glass eyes, teddy bear disc joints and natural sawdust filling. Nose is embroidered. He is tinted with oil paints. I don´t have any of the yarn left so he is unique.
